Meet The Team
Meet Donna
Hello, I’m Donna – the founder of The Retreat Brecon.

My journey into holistic therapies began in 2005 when I opened my first treatment room from home.

What started as a passion for helping people feel better soon evolved into a purpose-driven business rooted in well-being, natural skincare, and personalised care.

Today, I run The Retreat Brecon from a beautiful, calming space in the heart of town - a sanctuary where you can step away from the noise of everyday life and reconnect with yourself.

As a Clinical Aromatherapist, I specialise in bespoke aromatherapy massage and emotional support using essential oils tailored to your needs - whether you're dealing with anxiety, insomnia, grief, stress or physical conditions like fibromyalgia or chronic tension.
Over the years, I’ve also trained in a range of complementary therapies, including:
-
Traditional and advanced massage techniques (deep tissue, Indian head, lava shell)
-
Eve Taylor Aromatherapy Facials, designed for everything from sensitive and ageing skin to acne and rosacea
-
Holistic skincare for teens and adults
-
Waxing (including intimate waxing for women, plus male brow, chest & back)
-
Pedicures, lash & brow tinting

My approach is always about you – how you feel on the day, what your body is holding and what you need to walk out feeling lighter, clearer and more at peace.

Alongside treatments, I also offer:
-
Eve Taylor home skincare to continue your results between visits
-
AromaSense – my exclusive range of handmade aromatherapy soaps, candles and home blends, created to bring the peace of the treatment room into your everyday space
-
Gift vouchers, perfect for sharing self-care with someone special

Whether you’re looking for regular skin support, physical relief or emotional reset, I’d be honoured to be part of your wellness journey.

With warmth,
Donna

Meet Rob
Rob’s journey into yoga began not on a mat, but in the fast-paced world of veterinary medicine. Originally from New Zealand, he moved to the UK in 2002 and began practising yoga in 2004, while still working as a vet.
After facing significant health challenges, Rob retired from veterinary work at the end of 2009. That period of ill health – including a nervous breakdown – gave him firsthand insight into how powerful and restorative yoga can be, both physically and emotionally.

Drawn to the deeper teachings of yoga, Rob found a strong connection with the Mandala Yoga Ashram in Llanwrda. His studies there inspired him to train as a yoga teacher, completing the Mandala Yoga Teacher Training in 2012, accredited by the British Wheel of Yoga. Since 2014, he’s been teaching and sharing the practices that helped him rebuild his own wellbeing.

“Because yoga has been of a great benefit in my personal life, I wish to share experiences and help others through the process of reducing stress, anxiety and tension in your daily life, while also improving your physical health by way of toning body muscle and balancing energies."
